May 29 - Today in Beatles History



1961 – The Beatles perform at the Top Ten Club, Reeperbahn, Hamburg, West Germany.

1962 – The Beatles perform at the Star-Club, Hamburg, West Germany.

1963 – The Beatles, on tour with Roy Orbison, perform at the Rialto Theatre in York.

1964 – The Beatles and Tony Sheridan single “Ain’t She Sweet/If You Love Me Baby” (Polydor NH-52317) is released in the U.K. “If You Love Me Baby” was released on singles in Germany and the U.S. under the title “Take Out Some Insurance on Me Baby.

1966 – The Beatles visit Bob Dylan at the May Fair Hotel, London, the second of two visits, the first being on the previous day.

1972 – Paul McCartney and Wings’ single “Mary Had a Little Lamb/Little Woman Love” (Apple 1851) is released in the U.S.

1982 – The Beatles’ BBC radio special “The Beatles at the BEEB” is broadcast in the U.S.
