UK EP release: 'Beatles For Sale (No 2)'.

The 'Daily Mirror' informs that Tommy Quickly will not have his recording contract with Pye Records renewed when it expires in July. Epstein says he has not had good material, and that will very soon sign to another company.

1966
Appearance on BBC-radio's 'Saturday Club'.

1967
Epstein presents the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Denny Laine and his Electric String Band (in their 1st ever appearance), Procol Harum (full concert debut), and the Chiffons, in 2 houses in a Saville Theatre Sunday presentation. Morning: before the show, Procol Harum are told they are number 1 in the next week's chart with 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale'. As only present they received a bottle of champagne from Brian.
After the concert, it is announced that Procol Harum will return to the Saville Theatre to headline in a Brian Epstein Sunday presentation.

1968
Studio 3. 2.30pm-1.00am. Recording: 'Revolution' (working title of 'Revolution 1') (overdub onto take 19, creation of tape loops takes 1, 2, tape reduction take 19 into take 20, overdub onto take 20). 1964
'With The Beatles', 28th week in the Top 30 (UK New Musical Express chart).

Morning. Prospect Studios, London. Photographic session with photographer John Launois for the US magazine 'Saturday Evening Post'.
Ringo collapses, suffering from tonsillitis and pharyngitis. A local doctor is summoned. Ringo is taken to the private patients' wing of the University College Hospital, London. Brian and George Martin come up with Jimmy Nicol as Ringo's replacement.

Studio 2. 3.00-4.00pm. Rehearsal: 'I Want To Hold Your Hand'; 'She Loves You'; 'I Saw Her Standing There'; 'This Boy'; 'Can't Buy Me Love'; 'Long Tall Sally'. Rehearsal with Jimmy Nicol.

Brian is the subject of the 1st programme in a new Redifussion (ITV) series, 'Celebrity Game'.

1966
Studio 2. 7.00pm-2.30am. Recording: 'Laxton's Superb' (also 'I Don't Know', both working titles of 'I Want To Tell You') (overdub onto take 4). Mono mixing: 'Laxton's Superb' (also 'I Don't Know', both working titles of 'I Want To Tell You') (remixes 1-4, from take 4); 'Yellow Submarine' (remixes 1-5, from take 5). 'Laxton's Superb' changes name to 'I Don't Know' during the session. For the first time, bass is separately overdubbed in a Beatles session ('I Want To Tell You'). It is discarded Ringo's spoken intro for 'Yellow Submarine'.

Date of end of recording contract with EMI Records.

Autograph hunters chase by car John in a Mini. John's Rolls Royce is stopped in Bushy Park Road, Teddington, Middlesex, by the police, and fined for speeding. The Mini is also stopped. The chasers get their autographs after the police finishes with John.

Brian flies from Madrid to New York to arrange the next American tour.

1968

1963 – The Beatles, on tour with Roy Orbison, perform at the Rialto Theatre in York.

1964 – The Beatles and Tony Sheridan single “Ain’t She Sweet/If You Love Me Baby” (Polydor NH-52317) is released in the U.K. “If You Love Me Baby” was released on singles in Germany and the U.S. under the title “Take Out Some Insurance on Me Baby.

1966 – The Beatles visit Bob Dylan at the May Fair Hotel, London, the second of two visits, the first being on the previous day.

1972 – Paul McCartney and Wings’ single “Mary Had a Little Lamb/Little Woman Love” (Apple 1851) is released in the U.S.

1982 – The Beatles’ BBC radio special “The Beatles at the BEEB” is broadcast in the U.S.
